International

Air and ocean freight quotes without the email chain

International quotes usually mean a forwarder, a spreadsheet and a few days of back-and-forth. Enter the shipment once and compare air express, air standard and ocean routes with their transit times, then your Armstrong team books the one you choose.

International quote

You enter

  • Origin and destination: address, postal code or port city
  • Pallets or cartons with dimensions and weight
  • What it is, and whether it's hazardous
  • Ship date

You get

  • Air express, air standard and ocean routes compared
  • Total price and transit days for each
  • Door service or port-to-port legs shown
  • How long each price is valid
The international tab in the platform. Overseas routes can take a minute or two to price; your Armstrong team books the shipment.

Short answer: International freight is priced by route: air express is fastest and most expensive, air standard is cheaper by a few days, and ocean is the lowest cost per kilo with transit measured in weeks. The GetShippingRates platform compares those routes for a shipment, door to door or port to port, with total price and transit days, and Armstrong Transport Group's team books the move.

How it works

How international quoting works

1

Enter the shipment

Pickup and delivery as an address and postal code, or a port city for port-to-port. Add pallets or cartons with dimensions and weight.

2

Compare routes

See air express, air standard and ocean side by side, each with the total price, transit days and which legs are included.

3

Book with your team

Pick the route and your Armstrong team confirms and books it, along with the domestic legs on either end.

Included

International, on the platform you already use

Air vs ocean in one view

Domestic legs included

Inbound LTL or truckload to the port and final delivery are quoted from the same login.

Price validity shown

Every international price shows how long it's good for, so nobody books on a stale number.

Questions we hear

How is international air freight priced?

On chargeable weight: the greater of the actual weight and the volumetric weight (length times width times height in centimeters, divided by 6,000, in kilograms). Light, bulky freight bills on its size. Ocean LCL is priced per cubic meter or per 1,000 kg, whichever is greater.

How long do international quotes take?

Most return in a minute or two. Overseas routes involve several carriers and legs, so they take longer to price than a domestic LTL quote.

Can I book international freight online?

International routes are priced in the platform, and your Armstrong team confirms and books the shipment with you, including customs paperwork questions.

Do you handle customs clearance?

Customs brokerage and duties depend on the commodity and the countries involved. Tell us what you're shipping in the quote or demo request and the team will lay out what's needed.
